Bangladesh Window

CBET is proud to mention that it established a new local community channel under Rogers TV, Bangladesh Window. It came into effect in early 2015. It is one of many media outlets where CBET promotes and showcases the contributions and activities of local Canadians of Bangladeshi origin.

When I was first offered this job as Community Producer, I was very excited. I was thinking I have to talk to people live, on site, and on camera – how exciting that would be. I get to introduce people to the audience and talk to them in the studio. It is an interesting and worthwhile experience.

Bangladesh Window highlights major events and success stories within the National Capital Region of the Bangladeshi community. The show also features fascinating interviews with local Canadian writers, artists, scholars, youth and other personalities. It features the stories which directly relate to the people who live in the region, and highlights of cultural events. The show tries to explain from specific local angles and captures events or appearances that are relevant to the multicultural community of Ottawa. It is a window to the community in which we live, and is an extremely effective vehicle for providing a voice for Canadian Mosaic and expression.

Most of our programs are about you, your family, friends and neighbours. We pursue stories that matter most in our community. Bangladesh Window shares in your successes and connects you to the events that have marked your past and those that are shaping your future.

Bangladesh Window is aired on Rogers TV, channel 22, third week of each month.  I encourage everyone in our community to tune in for our next show, which will feature a Ramadan special.

Recent featured programs on Bangladesh Window:

CBET picnic, last fundraising dinner, success stories of Canadian youth of Bangladeshi origin, recently organized Pitha festival, community work, role playing and benefits as whole of different community organizations in the NCR, last Annual General Meeting and interview of local authors/writers and CBET officials.

We released several YouTube videos of Bangladesh Window featured programs with the help of volunteer Shahid Khan.  Please enjoy the videos posted in 2015.

CBET thank producer Shahid Khan of “Ottawa’s Cultural Window” program, Rogers TV for giving us the opportunity to showcase our community.
