(www.CBET.ca, Twitter, https://twitter.com/CBET_CB and FB).

CBET mission is to change a life by giving in education. Its motivation is that if a person is educated he/she will have a decent job, dwelling and will be free of disease and poverty. He/she will become an active and contributing global citizen.

The Bangladeshi origin Canadians in Ottawa also thought this is a way to contribute back to the Canadian Society and their back home country. While present world is in turmoil, we cannot solve those global issues but each one of us can at least change a life by giving only $200 in education.

Within 5 years by 2016, CBET offered 400 scholarships of each $200 in Bangladesh and 30 scholarship in Ottawa each of $500. In 2017 CBET is planning to offer 285 scholarship in Bangladesh with $51,000, each of $200 and another 10 scholarships with $5,100 in Ottawa, each of $500.

We encourage all Canadians to participate in CBET mission of change a life by giving in education, to donate $200 or any amount online at www.CBET.ca by PayPal, MC or Visa. CBET also issues CRA tax receipt for all donations.

CBET recently opened (in 2016) its Toronto Chapter. CBET runs a community TV station under Rogers Community TV Channel 22, every month 3rd Sunday at 9am and 3rd Monday at 6pm.   It is an opportunity to view lives of Bangladeshi Canadians in Canada and how they still maintain link with back home.

CBET also publishes an online magazine (www.CanadianDream.cbet.ca) where young writers as well as professionals from all ethnic background including city councillors, pharmacists and spiritual leaders write about day to day life issues for the benefit of all new Canadians.

CBET also holds a monthly family gathering to provide a forum for kids, youths, men and women to integrate in Canadian society with strong moral and ethical values keeping identity and become contributing Canadian citizens.

CBET is also proud to contribute a modest amount of $1,000 with other Ottawa Gatineau Muslims organizations together to donate $65,000 via Red Cross to Fort McMurray Fire victims this summer 2016. In 2015, CBET also contributed $300 along with other Muslim organizations, a total of $5,000, for the ongoing maintenance of an Ottawa Shelter for First Nations.

CBET has built a strong alliance with all the Ottawa Gatineau Muslim organizations, different Canadian charities and non-profit organizations including other Bangladeshi social and community organizations. CBET was part of the  12 Muslim organizations, UMO-OG (United Muslim Organizations –Ottawa Gatineau), when in June 2016 , six federal ministers and 20 MPs hosted at Parliament ,a Ramadan Iftar reception to 600  Muslims and  community  leaders from all over Canada. Over the last 5 years, CBET also awarded 25 outstanding volunteer appreciation awards to leaders and volunteers of different community organizations, city councillors, writers , and youths to made a difference in the community .
