The situation in Yemen is now termed as the worst humanitarian crisis of recent times.
- An estimated 85,000 children under the age of 5 are reported to have died from extreme hunger or disease between April 2015 and October 2018 and 10,000 people have died due to violence in war-torn Yemen, resulting in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
- More than 5 million children risk famine in war-torn Yemen due to severe Food shortages.
- Over 250,000 face immediate risk of starvation.
Human Concern International – HCI has been working with its partner in Yemen and continues to deliver emergency food baskets and clean water to the most vulnerable refugee families from Hodeidah, most recently in Amanat Alasima.
