When some one hurt us, we have three options, Dr. Emdad Khan, Ottawa

If some one hurt us, each one of us has three options

We can take equal revenge, may forgive & reconcile or work out with patience to make him/her our bosom friend.

Good option, a per Quranic law, one take  Revenge, as God stated in his book.

Surah Ash-Shura:The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, (42.40)

But God has provided a better option to us to  forgive and reconcile with person or persons, as seen in the following verse.

Surah Ash-Shura: but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allâh. Verily, He likes not the wrong doers (42.40)

God also provide another option, which is considered best for society and us:  But it is difficult, it requires a lot of patience and wisdom and requires us to be humble by removing arrogance from us.  But God warns the devil will work to derail us. It is most rewarding, if we can work out with patience to make him/her to become again our bosom  friend.

As-Saf:The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better, then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, as though he was a close friend. 41.34)

For building a cooperating, diverse, inclusive society and community, we all need to work and build a good legacy and footprint for us.  Let us all be a building brick for building a peaceful and helpful community where we live.
