Quran Recitation with devotion and Contemplating ,Emdad Khan , Ottawa

Learning & Teaching the Quran makes one the best of the people:

Uthman (RA) narrates that Rasul-Ullah (PBUH) said: “The best amongst you is one who learns the Quran and teaches it.” Al-Bukhari

Our Creator declares, he will protect the Quran

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ ۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ (٩) سُوۡرَةُ الحِجر

Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption) [] (9) Surah Al-Hijr

God states, ig do not contempalte on the Quran , our heaers are locked,

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ أَمۡ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقۡفَالُهَآ (٢٤) سُوۡرَةُ محَمَّد

Do they not then contemplate deeply in the Qur’ân, or are their hearts locked up (from understanding it)? (47.24) Surah Muhammad

We should recite slowly with nice sequence the Quran, God commads,

أَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلاً (٤) سُوۡرَةُ المُزمّل

Or a little more; And recite the Qur’ân (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style[] (73.4) Surah Al-Muzzammil

We should with family members, daily recite as much as quran easy with understanding and contemplation,

فَٱقۡرَءُواْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ‌ۚ

So recite as much of the Qur’ân as may be easy(73.20)

There are ten rewards for each letter we recite from the Qur’an:

Whoever reads one alphabet from the Al-Quran, he would be given a reward, multiplied by ten.  I did not say Alif… Lam… Mim is an alphabet.  But Alif is ONE alphabet, Lam is ONE alphabet and Mim is ONE alphabet.” ( Narrated by Tarmizi from Abdulla ibn Masud). Reading brings so much rewards what about practicing it?

The Qur’an cleans the Rusted Hearts!

Undoubtedly, the heart gets rusted like metal gets rusted when water goes over it. The People asked, “How can they [hearts] be cleaned.” The Prophet replied, “To remember death in abundance and to recite the Holy Quran.” (Mishkat)

The Qur’an will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment

Aboo Umaamah relates that the Prophet (PBUH said: “Read the Qur’an, for verily it will come on the Day of Standing as an intercessor for its companions.” [Muslim]

Interact with the Quran as we read it with inner participation.

We are in Allah’s presence; He is seeing me.

We are  hearing from Allah.

Allah addresses us directly, through His Messenger, when we read the Qur’an.

Every word in the Qur’an is meant for us

We seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the rejected

We recite In the name of Allah, the Most-merciful, the Mercy giving

We are conversing with Allah when we  reading the Qur’an.

We are Trusting and Expecting Allah’s Rewards
We are glorifying Allah, praise Allah (make tasbih)

A promise or Heaven,  we ask for it
A warning  or Hell-fire,  we seek refuge in Him

Let our heart become alive

Let our tongue express in words the appropriate response to what we read in the Qur’an.

Tears in our Eyes of joy or of fear an answer to what we read in the Qur’an.

Adopt outward posture that reflects our inner reverence, devotion and submission

Reading the Qur’an with Tartil.

Purify ourselves as much as we can
