Who is ready to memorize the Quran? Dr Emdad Khan

Allah swt says in surah Al-Qamar 4 times,

Surah Al Qamar Ay 17

54:17

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ١٧

And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So, is there anyone who will be mindful?

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Let us start to memorize the Quran with meaning and Tajweed.

Let us start today. Spend morning or evening. We require commitment, say at least, one hour.

We first have a real Hafez of the Quran, as our guide, who may spend 6 months or one year to learn proper recitation with rules of Tajweed.

It will be a life long but rewarding journey.

We recite say one hour for new learning and another one-hour for review.

It needs repetition and patience. Say we target one page per day. Recite one line say 7 times, then repeat the lines unseen 7 times, and then go to the next line recite 7 times, and repeat unseen 7 times. Then, recite the 2 lines 5 times and repeat both lines unseen 5 times. Then go to 3rd line, recite 5 times, unseen 3rd line another 5 times and combine 3 lines, recite 5 times, and unseen 3 lines together another 5 times.

Go until quarter page or half page.

Next session, do the same way quarter page or half page.

Gradually reviewing more time, say every evening for reviewing. Recite to teacher Hafiz or mom or dad or another friend.

For memorization each quarter or half average 7 to 10 times. Then the next 1st half page for 7 to 10 times and then one full page 7 to 10 times.

It requires persistence and patience and dua for memorization and retention by reviewing daily, with new page and old page.

We have millions of huffaz. Danger, if we do not spend time on revising.

If we keep on trying with patience inshallah, we will be able to do it. Ameen.
