Construction Season 2023
With warmer weather finally coming to the City of Ottawa, construction season has officially
begun! The City will invest over $800 million in infrastructural projects that benefit all residents.
Including the renewal of roads, bridge structures, buildings, parks, sidewalks, and pathways, this
construction season has many exciting investments planned, and we’re just getting started!

Bike Month in the City of Ottawa
Ottawa is a great place to ride your bike any time of year, but June is Let’s Bike Month. The
EnviroCentre, in partnership with the City is offering a series of workshops, events and promotions
during Let’s Bike Month. Visit Letsbike.ca for a full list of activities, including your opportunity to
win prizes. To participate, simply sign up as an individual or as part of a team, then log your bike
rides throughout the month. It’s fun, healthy, good for the environment and if you log at least one
ride, you will be eligible to win prizes. It’s a regular win-win-win-win situation.

City of Ottawa’s Anti-Racism Strategy
The City of Ottawa officially launched its first phase of the five-year implementation plan of its first
Anti-Racism Strategy – acknowledging the negative impacts of colonialism and racism in Canada.
This strategy is the City’s commitment to repair relationships with Indigenous, African, Caribbean,
Black and other racialized communities through truth, reconciliation, and community healing. The
strategy is a five-year plan to proactively identify and remove systemic barriers in City policies,
programs, and services. This strategy proposes an action plan with seven areas of focus, 28
recommendations and 132 actions to be implemented over the next five years.
